Ruckus Wireless sued over allegations of patent infringement

TYLER – A Michigan technologies company and a Texas holdings company are suing Ruckus Wireless over allegations of patent infringement that deals with a piece of Ethernet terminal equipment.

Chrimar Systems Inc., doing business as CMS Technologies, and Chrimar Holding Co. LLC, filed a lawsuit July 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Tyler Division against Ruckus Wireless Inc. of Sunnyvale, citing patent infringement.

According to the complaint, Chrimar is the owner of the 012 Patent, titled System and Method for Adapting a Piece of Terminal Equipment, and Holding is the exclusive licensee of the 012 Patent. Chrimar is also the owner and assignee of the 107 Patent, titled Piece of Ethernet Terminal Equipment and Holding, also has the exclusive license, the complaint states.

The complaint states that Ruckus has directly and indirectly infringed the 012 Patent and 107 Patent. The plaintiffs allege two other patents have also been used without permission.

Chrimar and Holding are seeking damages in an amount adequate to compensate the alleged infringements and have Ruckus pay a reasonable royalty for each further alleged infringement. The plaintiffs are represented by Justin S. Cohen and Richard L. Wynne Jr. of Thompson and Knight LLP in Dallas.
