Alber Seafoods Inc. sued over breach of contract allegations

SAN FRANCISCO – Trustees of a trust fund are suing a California corporation over allegations of unpaid contributions.

The board of trustees for the Northern California United Food and Commercial Workers Wholesale Health and Welfare Trust Fund filed suit Feb. 3 against Alber Seafoods Inc., a seafood distributor, citing breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that audits of the defendant's books found unpaid contributions totaling $34,376.87. The suit states the plaintiff has demanded payment, plus interest, but that Alber Seafoods has not done so.

The plaintiff seeks the following: compensation for all damages in the amount of $34,376.87, including liquidated damages amounting to $3,437.69 and interest of 10 percent per annum; attorneys' fees, cost of the suit and any other relief the court deems just and proper.
