SACRAMENTO – A Fresno County woman alleges that a kitchen appliance sold to the public is defective and causes injuries.
Edwina Pinon filed a class-action lawsuit on March 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against Tristar Products Inc. and Does 1-10, citing alleged breach of implied warranty.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she sustained second-degree burns when a 2015 Power Pressure Cooker XL manufactured by the defendants suddenly exploded. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly sold and distributed their products with safety features to prevent such occurrences, but these are purportedly defective.
The plaintiff seeks the following: restitution, legal fees, interest, injunctive relief requiring the defendant to recall and replace the allegedly defective products and any other relief as this court deems just and proper. She is represented by Todd M. Friedman and Meghan E. George of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman PC in Beverly Hills.
