Skechers USA Inc. accused of patent infringement

Patents 09

SAN FRANCISCO – A suit has been filed against a Manhattan Beach shoe manufacturer over claims its Magic Lites footwear infringes a patent.

Shen Ko Tseng of Taiwan filed a complaint on April 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Skechers USA Inc., alleging that the shoe manufacturer infringes patents owned by plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he owns a patent regarding light-emitting devices and has owned it since 2009. The plaintiff holds Skechers USA Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly sells and distributes LED illuminated shoes that infringes the patent owned by the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to preliminary and permanently enjoin the defendant from further infringing plaintiff's patents, all damages, cost and interest, treble damages and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Pavel I. Pogodin, Ph.D. of TransPacific Law Group in San Francisco.
