Phone 01

SACRAMENTO – A Vallejo individual has filed a class-action lawsuit against an Ohio payday lender alleging it made harassing phone calls.

Patrick Roberts filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on May 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against Buckeye Lending Solutions LLC, doing business as Checksmart, and Community Choice Financial Inc. alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in February, he was contacted on his mobile phone by the defendants using an artificial or pre-recorded voice. He is represented by L. Timothy Fisher, Annick M. Persinger, and Yeremey O. Krivoshey of Bursor & Fisher, P.A. in Walnut Creek and Scott A. Bursor of Bursor & Fisher, P.A. in New York, New York.
