SAN FRANCISCO – A couple has filed a class-action lawsuit against a Maryland company and its officers alleging that they made false and misleading statements to shareholders.
Patrick M. and Deborah P. Gibrall filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on May 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against
Intrexon Corp., Randal J. Kirk and Rick L. Sterling
alleging violation of federal securities laws.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that between May 11, 2015, and April 21, they suffered damages as a result of the false financial report given to them. The plaintiffs hold Intrexon Corp., Kirk and Sterling responsible because the defendants allegedly made false misrepresentations to the shareholders as to the current financial status of the company in order to deceive plaintiffs.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek payment of damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Jennifer Pafiti of Pomerantz LLP in Beverly Hills; Jeremy A. Lieberman and J. Alexander Hood II of Pomerantz LLP in New York, New York; and representations from Bronstein, Gewirtz and Grossman in New York, New York; and Pomerantz LLP in Chicago.
