SAN FRANCISCO – A Singapore corporation has filed suit against a New Jersey insurance company alleging that it is owed for a breach of contract.

APL Co. Pte. LTD filed a complaint on March 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against International Fidelity Insurance Co., citing action against surety on statutory bond and action against surety on continuing guaranty.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, between Dec. 10, 2010, and Jan. 25, it suffered damages to its business as a result of breach of contract by the defendant's client, Razak Logistics, and unpaid claims. The plaintiff holds International Fidelity Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay plaintiff for the breach of contract by Razak Logistics, despite judgment from a California court.

The plaintiff seeks judgment in the amount of $8,772.50 plus interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. It is represented by Mark K. de Langis of Lucas Valley Law in San Rafael.
