Class action filed against city of Sacramento over overtime wage allegations

Law money 03

SACRAMENTO – A California city is facing a class-action lawsuit from a man who alleges he was not paid overtime while working for it.

Michael Feyh filed a complaint on behalf of all similarly situated individuals on June 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against the city of Sacramento alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours per workweek but was not paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds the city of Sacramento responsible because the defendant allegedly allowed plaintiff to work overtime but failed to pay proper compensation to him for all hours worked.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all unpaid overtime compensation plus interest, liquidated damages equal to the unpaid wages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by David E. Mastagni, Isaac S. Stevens and Ace T. Tate of Mastagni Holstedt APC in Sacramento.
