Law money 01

SACRAMENTO – A man has filed a class-action lawsuit against a city over allegations he was not paid overtime.

Ryan Knight filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on June 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against the city of Tracy alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked for more than 40 hours at a given workweek but was not paid any overtime compensation by the defendant. The plaintiff holds the city of Tracy responsible because the defendant allegedly allowed plaintiff to work overtime but did not pay any overtime compensation to him.

The plaintiff seeks all unpaid overtime wages plus interest and liquidated damages equal to the unpaid wages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by David E. Mastagni, Isaac S. Stevens and Ace T. Tate of Mastagni Holstedt APC in Sacramento.
