SAN FRANCISCO – Two union members allege that a union and an employer have breached a contract.

Ronnie Kaufman and Alphonce Jackson filed a complaint on June 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against International Longshore and Warehouse Union and Pacific Maritime Association alleging breach of contract, breach of fair representation and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered damages as a result of the defendants awarding jobs to other personnel. The plaintiffs hold International Longshore and Warehouse Union and Pacific Maritime Association responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to offer jobs to registered members.

The plaintiffs are representing themselves.
