Patents 02

SAN JOSE – A Virginia corporation is suing Apple over claims it infringed patents used for point-to-point network communication.

Straight Path IP Group Inc. filed a complaint on June 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Apple Inc. alleging patent infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business as a result of its '469, '704, '121, '365, and '208 patents being infringed by the defendant. The plaintiff holds Apple Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly manufactured and distributed devices that contain software that infringes patents held by the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks all appropriate damages including interest, cost, and disbursement, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Marc A. Fenster and Neil A. Rubin of Russ, August & Kabat in Los Angeles.
