SAN JOSE – A Santa Clara County woman alleges she was not properly paid while working for a laundry service.

Lucinda Salas filed a complaint on July 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, San Jose Division against Lauderlux LLC, Campbell Plaza Laundrymat and Lawrence Camuso alleging violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act and California Labor Code.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours per workweek for the defendants but was not paid any overtime wages. The plaintiff holds Lauderlux LLC, Campbell Plaza Laundrymat and Camuso responsible because the defendants allegedly paid plaintiff a fixed salary, did not issue compliant wage stubs and did not offer compliant meal and rest breaks.

The plaintiff seeks unpaid wages; liquidated damages; compensatory damages; interest; civil penalties of $50 for the initial violation and $100 for each subsequent violation, not to exceed $4,000; restitution; injunctive relief; all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Tomas E. Margain and Huy Tran of Justice at Work Law Group in San Jose.
