FRESNO – A bottled water company has filed suit against a lubricant manufacturer alleging the product damaged bottles and cost the company in damages.

Crystal Geyser Water Co. and Sompo Japan Insurance Co. of America filed a complaint on July 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California, Fresno Division against International Chemical Corp. alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered damages to their business for the cost of having to recall products and destroy large amounts of their production due to failure of the lubricant they used for their water bottling production. The plaintiffs hold International Chemical Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly misrepresented to plaintiff that its lubricant is appropriate to use with plaintiff's bottles and that the lubricant damaged bottles.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $75,000 plus interest, delay damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Susan Benson of Benson Legal APC in Encino.
