LOS ANGELES – A Santa Monica photography business alleges a media company used its photo without permission on a website.
Michael Grecco Productions Inc., doing business as Michael Grecco Photography, filed a complaint on July 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against the defendants alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff's principal, Michael Grecco, alleges that he suffered damages as a result of his original photograph being used without his consent by the defendants. The plaintiff holds Breaking Media Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly used and displayed plaintiff's original photograph on their website, dealbreaker.com, without plaintiff's authority and consent.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants from further infringing plaintiff's work, award plaintiff all profits from their alleged infringement, statutory damages, statutory damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just.
