Unicolors Inc. files suit over allegations of copyright infringement of fabric design

Copyright 08

LOS ANGELES – A Vernon company that owns and creates fabric designs alleges that a New Jersey company and a New York company sold items that had similar designs.

Unicolors Inc. filed a complaint on July 15 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against 10 Spot of Kearny LLC, doing business as Madrag Clothing and 10 Spot Plus, Amici Accessories LTD and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages as the result of its copyrighted designs being used without its authority by the defendants. The plaintiff holds 10 Spot of Kearny LLC, Amici Accessories LTD and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly manufactured and sold garments that contained fabric designs that are similar or identical to plaintiff's design.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendants, award of all profits, statutory damages, interest all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by C. Yong Jeong and Amy Choe of Jeong & Likens LC in Los Angeles.
