Copyright 03

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles textile company has filed a suit over allegations that two companies have produced garments that feature its copyrighted designs without authorization.

Urban Textile Inc. filed a complaint on July 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against CITI Trends Inc., Apollo Apparel Group LLC and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business as the result of its designs being used without its authority by the defendants. The plaintiff holds CITI Trends Inc., Apollo Apparel Group LLC and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly manufactured and distributed to different retailers fabric and garments that features plaintiff's designs.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to enjoin the defendants, award all profits and damages to plaintiff, all legal fees and interest and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by C. Yong Jeong and Amy Choe of Jeong & Likens LC in Los Angeles.
