LOS ANGELES – A fabric company alleges a retailer sold garments made with its copyrighted fabrics.

Gold Value International Textile Inc., individually and doing business as Fiesta Fabric, filed a complaint on Aug. 5 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against the US Trendy Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business as the result of its designs being used on other fabrics besides its own. The plaintiff holds US Trendy Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly manufactured and distributed fabrics and garments through retail stores and online outlets that bear plaintiff's designs without authorization.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, award plaintiff all profits and damages derived from the unlawful act, statutory damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott A. Burroughs, Trevor W. Barrett and Justin M. Gomes of Doniger/ Burroughs in Venice.
