Carpenters Southwest Administrative Corp. alleges it is owed for contributions

Contract 02

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles-based labor union corporation alleges a construction group and its affiliates did not pay contributions per a bargaining agreement.

Carpenters Southwest Administrative Corp. and board of trustees for the Carpenters Southwest Trusts filed a complaint on Aug. 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against T&R Painting & Drywall, doing business as T&R Construction Group and also known as Touch Up Inc., Hagai Rapaport, Pnina Rapaport, Mariela Karin Iamburg, Registrar of Contractors State License Board and Does 1 through 10 citing the Labor-Management Relations Act and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered damages from unpaid contributions from February 2011 to January 2014 and during other periods. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly breached their bargaining agreement with the plaintiffs by failing to pay their monthly contributions to plaintiffs on behalf of their employees.

The plaintiffs seek unpaid contributions of $1,211.20 plus interest and liquidated damages, audit costs, sum of $368.54, unpaid contributions of $4,000 plus interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Jodi Siegner of DeCarlo & Shanley in Los Angeles.
