Labor union funds allege Absolute Outdoor Inc. owes for unpaid contributions

LOS ANGELES – Several union funds allege that they did not receive contributions.

Construction Laborers Trust Funds for Southern California Administrative Co., United States of America for the use of Laborers Health and Welfare Trust Fund for Southern California, et al. filed a complaint on Sept. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Absolute Outdoor Inc., CDM Constructors Inc., Fidelity and Deposit of Maryland, Doe 1 through Doe 10 citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered damages due to unpaid contributions. The plaintiffs holds Absolute Outdoor Inc., CDM Constructors Inc., Fidelity and Deposit of Maryland, and Doe 1 through Doe 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly breached their bargaining agreement with plaintiffs by failing to pay their monthly contributions on behalf of their employees.

The plaintiffs seek damages in the sum of $13,491.94, interest on all unpaid contributions in the sum of $125.50, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Alexander B. Cvitan, Marsha M. Hamasaki, and Peter A. Hutchinson of Reich, Adell & Cvitan in Los Angeles.
