Carpenters Southwest Administrative Corp. claims employer refused audit

LOS ANGELES – An administrative corporation for several labor union trusts have filed a suit to audit an Arizona employer's records.

Carpenters Southwest Administrative Corp. and board of trustees for the Carpenters Southwest Trusts filed a complaint on Sept. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against Parker Design & Construction Inc. and Does 1 through 10 citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act and the Labor-Management Relations Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege per the agreement between the parties, the plaintiffs have the authority to audit the defendant's business records. The plaintiffs state that they have requested to audit the defendant's records and that it has refused to let them do so.

The plaintiffs seek allow completion of an audit of employer business records, all legal fees, contributions and any other relief as this court deems just. They are represented by Jodi Siegner of DeCarlo & Shanley in Los Angeles.
