Government claims Los Angeles County woman has not paid loan

LOS ANGELES – The federal government alleges that a Los Angeles County woman owes more than $2,000.

United States of America, on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education, filed a complaint on Sept. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Sandy Santos, also known as Sandy Rodriguez, alleging that the individual failed to settle her debt with plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Santos failed to pay the principal amount of her debt, including interest, to plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $2,692.74 plus interest of $2,265.18 with further interest at 8 percent per annum accruing at 59 cents per day, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by William I. Goldsmith and Michael L. Goldsmith of Goldsmith & Hull APC in Northridge.
