Copyright 06

LOS ANGELES – A New York company alleges a Los Angeles company and a Vernon company manufactured garments with its copyrighted design.

City Prints LLC filed a complaint on Sept. 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Pink Pleasure Inc., doing business as Cotton Candy USA, Love Culture International Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it is the owner and author of a copyrighted two-dimensional artwork called P6897. The plaintiff alleges that the defendants have purchased, sold, marketed, advertised, manufactured and distributed fabric or garments that featured a design which is identical, or substantially similar to the subject design, which caused plaintiff to suffer substantial damages to its business.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants, that defendants be enjoined from further infringement, be awarded profits of defendants, damages, attorneys' fees, interest, costs of litigation and further relief as the court deems proper. It is represented by C. Yong Jeong and Amy Choe of Jeong & Likens LC in Los Angeles.
