Poetry Corp. alleged to have not paid proper wages to garment makers

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles clothing manufacturer allegedly did not pay properly pay employees.

U.S. Department of Labor Secretary of Labor Thomas E. Perez filed a complaint on Sept. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Poetry Corp. and Allison Hanada alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendants did not fairly compensate its employees for their work. The plaintiff holds Poetry Corp. and Hanada responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay overtime and minimum wages to their employees.

The plaintiff seeks to enjoin the defendants and disgorgement of amounts for restitution. He is represented by Charles Song of United States Department of Labor in Los Angeles.
