Fresno County resident alleged to owe more than $2,000 on student loan

LOS ANGELES – A Fresno County woman is accused of defaulting on a student loan.

United States of America, on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education, filed a complaint on Sept. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California Lea Ann A. Estrada, also known as Lea Ann L. Estrada and Lea A. Spry, alleging that she failed to settle her debt with plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Estrada failed to pay the principal amount of her debt with plaintiff plus interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $2,292.12 plus interest of $1,746.86 with further interest at 9 percent per annum accruing at 57 cents per day, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. It is represented by William I. Goldsmith and Michael L. Goldsmith of Goldsmith & Hull APC in Northridge.
