Gogo Apparel Inc., Alloy Apparel & Accessories accused of copyright infringement

LOS ANGELES – A California corporation claims two garment manufacturers used fabrics bearing plaintiff's copyrighted design.

Star Fabrics Inc. filed a complaint on Sept. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Gogo Apparel Inc., Alloy Apparel & Accessories and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business from having its No. 62481 design used on fabrics without its consent. The plaintiff holds Gogo Apparel Inc., Alloy Apparel & Accessories and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly distributed garments through their retail stores made of fabric that infringes plaintiff's copyrights.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendant, award all profits to plaintiff, statutory damages, all legal fees and interest, plus any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott A. Burroughs, and Howard S. Han of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
