SAN FRANCISCO – A Wisconsin business claims a San Bruno company sells retrofit kits that infringe its patented technology.

Orion Energy Systems Inc. filed a lawsuit Sept. 30 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Green Creative LLC, alleging the defendant infringes the plaintiff's 948 patent.

According to the complaint, Orion Energy suffered financial damages because the defendant infringes at least one claim of the plaintiff's '948 patent, titled Troffer Light Fixture Retrofit Systems and Methods, through the manufacture and distribution of its LED Troffer Retrofit Kits.

Orion Energy Systems seeks trial by jury, enjoining the defendant from further infringing the plaintiff's patents, damages, treble damages, all legal fees and any other relief the court deems just. It is represented by attorneys Eileen R. Ridley of Foley & Lardner LLP in San Francisco and by Kadie M. Jelenchick of Foley & Lardner in Milwaukee.
