Spex Technologies Inc. alleges IronKey brand devices infringe patents

SANTA ANA – A San Jose business alleges six corporations have manufactured devices that infringe two of its patents.

Spex Technologies Inc. filed a complaint on Sept. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Kingston Technology Corp., Kingston Digital Inc., Kingston Technology Co. Inc., Imation Corp., Datalocker Inc. and Data Locker International LLC alleging patent infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business. The plaintiff holds Kingston Technology Corp., Kingston Digital Inc., Kingston Technology Co. Inc., Imation Corp., Datalocker Inc. and Data Locker International LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly infringed at least one count of plaintiff's '802 and '135 patents through the manufacture and distribution of their hardware encrypting IronKey memory products.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, interest, compensatory damages, treble damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Marc A. Fenster and Ben Wang of Russ, August & Kabat in Los Angeles.
