Liberty Life Assurance Co. of Boston accused of wrongfully denying disability benefit claim

LOS ANGELES – A Rockwell Collins employee alleges he is disabled and that his claim for disability benefits was wrongfully denied.

Khosrow Jafarkhani filed a complaint on Oct. 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Liberty Life Assurance Co. of Boston and Does 1 to 10 citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in April 2015, he became disabled and applied for disability benefits but his claim was denied. The plaintiff holds Liberty Life Assurance Co. of Boston and Does 1 to 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly denied plaintiff's disability claim based on record review and ignored the significant medical evidence to support his claim.

The plaintiff seeks damages, payment of disability benefits at the rate of $5,494.42 per month, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Bernard R. Schwam of Law Office of Bernard R. Schwam in Encino.
