U.S. Department of Education sues over unpaid student loan balance

CALIFORNIA — A government entity is suing Keyond T. Brown, an individual, citing alleged breach of contract and unpaid debt.

United States of America through the Department of Education filed a complaint on Oct. 12, in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Keyond T. Brown alleging that the individual failed to settle his debt with plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that United States of America suffered damages resulting from the unpaid debt. The plaintiff holds Keyond T. Brown responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay the principal balance of his debt with plaintiff plus interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $1,540.18 plus interest of $1,645.15 with interest accruing at 5.01 percent per annum and all legal fees. They are represented by Jacquelyne M. Nguyen of Law Offices of Jacquelyne M. Nguyen in Costa Mesa.
