LOS ANGELES – A member of the Los Angeles Police Department alleges that a plan wrongfully denied his claim for legal defense representation.

Jonathan L. Hall filed a complaint on Oct. 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Los Angeles Police Protective League Legal Defense Plan citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages from being denied any legal defense representation by the defendant in two criminal proceedings filed in 2014. The plaintiff holds Los Angeles Police Protective League Legal Defense Plan responsible because the defendant allegedly denied plaintiff's claim several times despite several appeals from the plaintiff.

The plaintiff seeks plan benefits owing to him, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Robert F. Keehn of Law Office of Robert F. Keehn in Los Angeles.
