Oracle Corp. accused of patent infringement by Washington company

SAN JOSE – A Redwood Shores business is accused of infringing a Washington company's patents.

SoftVault Systems Inc. filed a complaint on Nov. 4 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against Oracle Corp. alleging patent infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges it is the owner of patents '868 and '765, which relate to a system used to protect computers from unauthorized use. The plaintiff holds Oracle Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly uses and offers for sale a system that infringes at least one claim of plaintiff's patents.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, enjoin the defendant from further infringing plaintiff's patents, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief as the court deems just.
