San Bernardino County man accused of defaulting on education loan

LOS ANGELES – A San Bernardino County man has allegedly defaulted on a student loan.

United States of America, on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education, filed a complaint on Nov. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Darryl L. Irvin alleging that the individual failed to settle his debt with the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Irvin allegedly failed to pay the principal amount of his debt plus interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $2,100, interest of $711.57 with further interest at 3 percent per annum accruing at $0.17 per day, administrative charges of $225, all legal fees, surcharge of 10 percent of the amount of the debt owed, and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by William I. Goldsmith and Michael L. Goldsmith of Goldsmith & Hull APC in Northridge.
