Unicolors Inc. files suit against garment vendors over alleged copyright infringement

LOS ANGELES – A Vernon company claims its copyrighted fabrics were used to manufacture clothing without its permission.

Unicolors Inc. filed a complaint on Nov. 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against All Fashions Clothing Inc., Ross Stores Inc., doing business as DD's Discounts, and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business. The plaintiff holds All Fashions Clothing Inc., Ross Stores Inc., doing business as DD's Discounts, and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly distributed fabrics that bear plaintiff's designs.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants from further infringing plaintiff's designs, award all profits to the plaintiff, statutory damages, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by C. Yong Jeong, Amy J. Choe and Ryan N. Ostrowski of Jeong & Likens LC in Los Angeles.
