LOS ANGELES – An artist alleges his works of dinosaurs were unlawfully used by a company to sell products.
Gregory S. Paul filed a complaint on Nov. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Eurographics Inc., Posterazzi, individually and doing business as www.posterazzi.com, and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages from having his artwork copied and sold without permission by the defendants. The plaintiff holds Eurographics Inc., Posterazzi and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly sold infringing copies of plaintiff's artwork through retail stores, catalogues, museums and online websites.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants from further infringing plaintiff's artwork, award all profits to the plaintiff, damages, statutory damages, all legal fees and interest plus any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Stephen M. Doniger and Scott Alan Burroughs of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
