LOS ANGELES – A Victorville man claims a Buffalo, New York individual uploaded his video on YouTube and did not compensate him.
Henry Melendez filed a complaint on Dec. 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Anthony Vaiana alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages from having his work "Enemies of Freedom" used without permission and was not compensated by the defendant. The plaintiff holds Vaiana responsible because the defendant allegedly uploaded a portion of plaintiff's video in his Anonymous Official YouTube channel.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages plus interest, all profits, maximum statutory damages of $150,000, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Sean M. Lynch of The McArthur Law Firm in Los Angeles.
