Consumer claims she received unwanted calls from Ranksone Inc.

Phone 07

LOS ANGELES – A Ventura woman claims her cellphone number is registered on the National Do-Not-Call Registry and that she is receiving solicitation calls from company that is in the business of increasing website traffic.

Vanessa Garcia filed a complaint on behalf of herself and all others similarly situated on Dec. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Ranksone Inc. and Does 1 through 10 citing the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that beginning in June, she suffered damages from receiving unwanted phone calls from the defendant. The plaintiff holds Ranksone Inc. and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly used an automatic telephone dialing system to call the plaintiff in violation of the TCPA.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks $500 in statutory damages, $1,500 in treble damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Todd M. Friedman, Adrian R. Bacon and Meghan E. George of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman PC in Woodland Hills.
