LOS ANGELES – A Palmdale consumer alleges a debt collector continued to call her after she revoked her consent.

Erricka Gonzalez filed a complaint on Jan. 13 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against Paypal Inc. alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered damages from receiving several collection calls from the defendant beginning in June 2016. The plaintiff holds Paypal Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly kept on calling the plaintiff despite her request to stop calling her.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages of $500, statutory damages of $1,000, treble damages, punitive damages all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Trinette G. Kent of Lemberg Law LLC in Wilton, Connecticut.
