Consumer accuses Atlas Van Lines of unlawful telemarketing

Phone 06

LOS ANGELES – A moving company is accused of calling number registered on the National Do-Not-Call Registry.

Dave Alan filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on Jan. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Atlas Van Lines Inc. and Does 1 through 10 citing the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in June 2016, he suffered damages from receiving several unwanted calls from the defendants and being charged for those calls. The plaintiff holds Atlas Van Lines Inc. and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly used an automatic telephone dialing system.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks $500 in statutory damages, $1,500 in treble damages, and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Todd M. Friedman, Adrian R. Bacon and Meghan E. George of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman in Woodland Hills.
