Phone 04

LOS ANGELES – An Oxnard consumer has filed a class-action lawsuit against a business over its alleged telemarketing practices.

John Sloatman III filed a complaint on behalf of all others similarly situated on Jan. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Stress Free Funds LLC and Does 1 through 10 citing the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in May 2016, he suffered damages from receiving unwanted telephone calls from the defendant and was charged for those calls. The plaintiff holds Stress Free Funds LLC and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly contacted the plaintiff using an automatic telephone dialing system despite being on the Do-Not-Call list to solicit its services.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks $500 in statutory damages, $1,500 in treble damages and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Todd M. Friedman, Adrian R. Bacon and Meghan E. George of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman P.C. in Woodland Hills.
