Individual accused of defaulting on education loan

LOS ANGELES – A Riverside County resident is alleged to owe more than $2,000 on a student loan.

United States of America, on behalf of the Department of Education, filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Gabriel R. Guerra, also known as Gabriel Guerra, alleging that the individual failed to settle his debt with the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Guerra failed to pay the principal amount of his debt plus interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $2,100 plus interest of $332.46 with further interest at 3.12 percent per annum accruing at 18 percent per day, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by William I. Goldsmith and Michael L. Goldsmith of Goldsmith and Hull, A.P.C. in Northridge.
