Government alleges Orange County resident owes more than $5,000 on student loan

LOS ANGELES – An Orange County individual is alleged to have defaulted on a student loan.

United States of America, on behalf of the Department of Education, filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Bennett H. Nguyen alleging that the individual failed to settle his debt with the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Nguyen failed to pay the principal amount of his debt plus interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $5,578.89, plus interest of $2,214.23 with further interest at 8 percent per annum accruing at $1.22 per day, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by William I. Goldsmith and Michael L. Goldsmith of Goldsmith & Hull, A.P.C. in Northridge.
