African-American woman alleges false arrest, negligence against Southwest Airlines

LOS ANGELES – An African-American woman alleges a flight attendant on a Southwest Airlines flight engaged in conduct that caused her injuries.

Andrea Robinson filed a complaint on Jan. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Southwest Airlines Co., Flight Attendant Marina Doe, John Does 1-10, and Entities 1-10 alleging negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress and false arrest.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 24, 2015, she was traveling on a Southwest Airlines flight and claims that Marina Doe ignored her during drink services, but offered drinks to passengers around her. The suit states that plaintiff made her way to the back of the plane to speak to other flight attendants and informed them she would be filing a report on Marina Doe.

The suit states that when the plane arrived at Los Angeles International Airport, plaintiff was escorted by law enforcement and questioned. She alleges she was later released and a Southwest Airlines represenat apologized to the plaintiff.

The plaintiff holds Southwest Airlines Co., Flight Attendant Marina Doe, John Does 1-10 and Entities 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly inflicted emotional distress to the plaintiff and wrongfully detained her without probable cause.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks general and special damages, punitive and exemplary damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Danielle Humphrey Iddrissu of Law Office of Danielle Humphrey in Los Angeles.
