Tax Help Group alleged to have sent spam text messages

LOS ANGELES – A tax business is being accused of sending spam text messages in a class-action complaint.

Jonathan Payton filed a complaint on behalf of all other similarly situated on Jan. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Tax Help Group LLC alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in August 2016, he suffered damages from receiving several advertisement text messages on his cellular telephone from the defendant. The plaintiff alleges he has never been a customer of the defendant and never provided his number to it.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages, injunctive relief, and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Todd M. Friedman, Meghan E. George, Adrian R. Bacon of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman PC in Woodland Hills.
