Golden State Framers alleged to owe more than $200,000 in unpaid contributions

LOS ANGELES – A construction company is accused of not paying contributions to a group of affiliated unions.

Carpenters Southwest Administrative Corp., and board of trustees for the Carpenters Southwest Trusts filed a complaint on Jan. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against GSF Enterprises Inc., doing business as Golden State Framers; John Cunningham Dunbar; Gary Aldo Viano; Developers Surety and Indemnity Co. and Does 1 through 10 citing the Labor-Management Relations Act and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they suffered damages from unpaid and late-paid contributions. The plaintiffs holds GSF Enterprises Inc., doing business as Golden State Framers; Dunbar; Viano; Developers Surety and Indemnity Co. and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly breached their bargaining agreement with the labor group by not paying their monthly benefit contribution on behalf of their employees.

The plaintiffs seek unpaid contributions in the sum of $200,188.43 plus interest, funds for vacation plan of $54,298.31 plus interest, liquidated damages, audit costs, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Thomas Davis and Jodi Siegner of DeCarlo & Shanley in Los Angeles.
