Charlotte Russe Inc., Poshmark Inc. alleged to have used fabric design without consent

LOS ANGELES – A San Diego corporation and a Redwood City corporation are accused of unlawfully copying a fabric design.

Universal Dyeing & Printing Inc. filed a complaint on Feb. 2 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Charlotte Russe Inc., Poshmark Inc. and Does 1 through 10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business. The plaintiff holds Charlotte Russe Inc., Poshmark Inc. and Does 1 through 10 responsible because the defendants allegedly distributed garments that bear plaintiff's designs.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, award all profits, statutory damages, all legal fees, interest, and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott A. Burroughs and Frank Gregory Casella of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
