Los Angeles County woman alleged to have defaulted on education loan

LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County woman is alleged to owe more than $5,000 on a student loan.

United States of America, on behalf of the U.S. Department of Education, filed a complaint on Feb. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Giselle Y. Andria alleging that the individual failed to settle her debt with the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Andria failed to pay the principal amount of her debt including interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $5,214.65, plus interest of $15,243.52 with interest accruing thereafter at 9 percent per annum, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Kathryn E. Van Houten of Irsfeld, Irsfeld & Younger LLP in Glendale.
