Illinois Valley Printing Inc. alleged to owe more than $16,000 for withdrawal payment

Late 01

LOS ANGELES – A labor group with a principal place of business in Los Angeles claims an Illinois employer failed to pay a withdrawal liability payment.

GCIU-Employer Retirement Fund and board of trustees of the GCIU-Employer Retirement Fund filed a complaint on Feb. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Illinois Valley Printing Inc. citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the defendant withdrew from participating in the plaintiffs' fund in 2010. The plaintiffs hold Illinois Valley Printing Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to make the required withdrawal liability payments.

The plaintiffs seek past due withdrawal liability payment of $16,076.02, interest, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Kerry K. Fennelly and Valentina S. Mindirgasova of Cornwell & Baldwin in Escondido.
