LOS ANGELES – A Santa Monica photography corporation alleges a commercial news website used one of its photos without authorization.
Michael Grecco Productions Inc., doing business as Michael Grecco Photography, filed a complaint on Feb. 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Time Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he suffered damages from having his photograph of a breast pump used without authority. The plaintiff holds Time Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly copied and publicly displayed plaintiff's photograph on their website.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks enjoin the defendants, award all profits to the plaintiff, statutory damages, all legal fees, interest, and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott Alan Burroughs and David Shein of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
