Government alleges more than $2,000 is owed on student loan

LOS ANGELES – An individual is accused of failing to pay his student loan.

United States of America, on behalf of the Department of Education, filed a complaint on Feb. 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Edward Ellison alleging that the individual failed to settle his debt with the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Ellison failed to pay the principal amount of this debt including interest.

The plaintiff seeks principal amount of $2,049.60 plus interest of $692.59 with further interest at 8 percent per annum accruing at 45 cents per day, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. It is represented by William I. Goldsmith and Michael L. Goldsmith of Goldsmith & Hull, A.P.C. in Northridge.
