LOS ANGELES – A Beverly Hills consumer claims Papa John's sent him unsolicited text messages without his consent.
Anozie filed a complaint on Feb. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the
Central District of California, Western Division against Papa John's
International Inc. citing the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that beginning in March 2016,
he received automated text messages from the defendant. He alleges he
does not have a prior existing relationship with the defendant. The
plaintiff holds Papa John's International Inc. responsible because the
defendant allegedly continued to send the plaintiff text messages after
he replied "stop" to discontinue the messages.
requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages of $500, treble
damages, and further relief this court grants. He is represented by
